VÁMONOS QUE NOS VAMOS...

Con el siguiente artefacto digital pretendo mostrar de forma cronológica cómo se ha ido desarrollando el curso:

Y haciendo balance de lo aprendido durante el curso, tres aspectos del mismo que me han gustado han sido:
  • Aprender a organizarme con los contenidos lingüísticos.
  • Manejar otro puñado de recursos web útiles.
  • Poder englobar en una unidad todas esas ideas que a veces no se utilizan por puro desconocimiento.
Como aspecto mejorable del curso para próximas ediciones me hubiera gustado conocer la evaluación que se ha hecho de mi unidad.

MayScaffolding vs PacFractions

This CLIL unit about Fractions is designed to allow all students in their 1st year of  Compulsory Secondary Education belong to a bilingual class context, with English as L2, achieve the following learning outcomes:
  • To know, understand and use fraction concepts.
  • To describe the procedure for finding equivalent fractions.
  • To reduce a fraction to lowest terms.
  • To apply fraction concepts to solve problems.
  • To calculate Lowest Common Denominator.
  • To apply all procedures for ordering fractions.
  • To operate with fractions.
  • To do word problems related to fractions.
The area is Maths and the subject contents are:
  • Meaning of fractions.
  • Equivalent fractions.
  • Simplify fractions.
  • Calculate Lowest Common Denominator.
  • Compare and order fractions.
  • Basic operations with fractions
  • Use the order of operation involving fractions.
  • Word problems related to fractions.
At the end of this unit students will be able to record in pairs a video describing how to calculate an operation involving fractions and a word problem.

This unit will be developed in eigth sessions. In order to reach our goals I have designed the following tasks:

Session 1:
Brainstorming ideas about fractions. We will expect learners to use some L1 , then translate.
Content: Meaning of fractions.
Activity: Matching up diagrams and fractions
Resources: Pictures related to the topic:
Online dictionary of English pronunciation

Session 2:
Contents: Equivalent fractions.
                Simplify fractions.
Activities: Effective scaffolding.

Contents: Calculate Lowest Common Denominator.
